What I’ve learned from being a 20 something entrepreneur… who made her first mil at 24!November 8, 2019 / Business, Inspiration, Mindset
By Sabrina Philipp
As 2020 starts peeking at us and saying “girl, I’m ready for you”, I’m taking a few days to reflect on what a bat-crap crazy 2019 I had. From $500k months to sell out launches left, right, and center… it’s been a A LOT.
It might seem crazy to you (trust me, it’s just as crazy to me too!), but I’ve learned a whole bunch in the few years I’ve been playing the entrepreneurial game. What started as $800 and a one-way ticket to Bali, has led me to a multi-million dollar business, a team of 20+ and travelling the world on my own terms. #pinchmemoment
It’s felt like it took a hot minute and a gazillion years all at once. I know that 2020 is brewing up your big break and you can’t wait to learn the oodles of lessons that business ownership has ready to deliver! Well, just pump the brakes a second because I’m about to spill the tea on entrepreneurship in your twenties…
Expectation vs. Reality
We all see the shiny Instagram pages of our idols with spotless launch after spotless launch as they sit poolside, sipping a cocktail and getting their feet rubbed by the husband they’ve just retired. Well let me tell you, it ain’t all that at all! My clients’ and my own experience will tell you that no launch is perfect – but they do get better with practise.
- It’s totally normal to have loads of sales at first, then experience a drop-off.
- It’s totally normal for potential customers to have questions before they hit ‘add to cart’.
- It’s totally normal to spot tech glitches or spelling mistakes mid-launch.
It’s all a learning curve – and I’m telling you that the learning curve is 100% necessary if you want to succeed. #sorrynotsorry!
Overnight success takes time, but not that much time
I hear a lot of business people talking about ‘trusting in the process’ and ‘good things come to those who wait’… uhh hold up. Good things come to those who get intentional and get their booties out there!
I started my coaching business in February 2017, was featured in Forbes 6 months later and had my first $500k launch just 9 months in.
I’ll tell you what I didn’t do, I didn’t sit back and wait. Because, sitting back and waiting would not have built me a multi-million-dollar business…. Launching would.
Speak it into existence!
You want something? TELL yourself you’re going to get it. Hell, TELL EVERYONE!
- I TOLD MYSELF that Forbes would go viral. It did.
- I TOLD MYSELF that launching my group program would mean my first $100k cash month. It did.
- I TOLD MYSELF that The Bali Mastermind launch would make $250k. It did $500k.
Strategy is important and planning is great – but they are empty words without belief in your inevitable success. Lock in that energy, decide that you’re going to get what you want and don’t stop until you do! Take some time this month to write out your goals, but stary consciously believing in them too!
It’s ok to want more
I dreamed and dreamed of being a 6-figure entrepreneur until I was one. Once I got there I realized that I wasn’t anywhere near done. I didn’t feel like I’d made the impact that I wanted to – I had more to give.
I want you to know that it’s totally ok to feel like this! If you’ve hit 6-figures and you’re thinking “really? Is this all there is?”, then you’re ready to push on to the next level – a 6 figure launch!
Is 2020 the year YOU make some serious bank?
Are you ready to ditch the sales-phobia and stack up those dollars?
If you are, you’re going to want to jump on the Sold Out Sales™ waitlist…
