How to Rock Your Livestreams for Sold Out Sales™November 23, 2020 / Business, Profitable, Social Media
By Sabrina Philipp
Do you want to rock your livestreams to bring in a tidal wave of sales?
Livestreams are the best sales tools for online entrepreneurs to harness the power of social media marketing to grow their business. If only they were so easy.
Livestreams can be the most nerve wracking way to connect with your audience. The fear of public speaking is real, babe. That “live”button means no do-overs.
“Why can’t I just record the video and post it?”, I hear you ask. I’ll tell you why.
Because lives are watched 3 times longer than non-live videos.
Because lives produce 6 times as many interactions as non-live videos.
Because livestreams are the best way to show up as your authentic self and engage in real time with your audience.
There’s no way around them, babe. Livestreams are essential to successful online entrepreneurship.
That doesn’t mean you have to conquer your fear of livestreams.
#mythbuster
You may always get a major case of the nerves every single time you do a livestream. Or, you may never break a sweat at all. That’s not what matters.
What does matter is how you convert your energy into a true, authentic presence with your audience so they feel spoken to, seen and heard.
I’ve done hundreds of livestreams to scale my business to multiple seven figures and I want to share what works for me, so you can make it work for you, too.
Position your Title and Topic as a Hook
What is your audience going to learn on your livestream? What are some specific pain points that your ideal client experiences that would guarantee strong attendance? Put that in your title and description. Avoid vague titles that sound very generic so you don’t get lost in a sea of sameness on the Internet. Your title should stand out. Also, people like walking away from a livestream with a set of actions they can immediately put to work. Use language like “how to” and “three tips for” to frame our livestream title.
Keep Bringing Them Back to the Main Idea
You know the saying “less is more”? That’s certainly true for livestreams. I’m sure you’ve been on livestreams that go on forever and you walk away wondering what the whole thing was about. Winging it and rambling are not good livestream strategies. What makes livestreams unique is that your idea clients will potentially cycle in and out of your livestreams at different times. They may only listen in for a minute or two. You should have no more than 3 main talking points and keep bringing your audience back to the main idea. Yes, you will repeat yourself and this is a good thing in livestreams and it is also a great thing in sales when value has to be reinforced over and over so it truly lands with your ideal client. Fewer point repeated often will leave everyone attending your livestream with a very clear picture of what you have on offer.
Be Specific on How They Can Take Action
Your audience wants value from your livestreams. They don’t just want to be sold to. Whatever you are teaching them should be actionable, meaning your ideal client has clear direction on how they can end the livestream and actually go do something with the insight you’ve given them. One way of making your teachings actionable is to make your teaching specific to your ideal client’s business. For example, if you are talking about launch plans, make recommendations based on different business type, i.e., online business coaches, online wellness coaches, digital marketing agencies, etc. Another way of making your teachings actionable is to give examples of how you or one of your clients have solved a problem.
Offer a Clear Call to Action to Work With You
Your livestream shouldn’t have an ending, it should invite a continuation of the conversation. If you are giving 2021 business planning tips in your livestream, you should invite your audience to work with you on their 2021 business plans. There are lots of different ways of playing this. If you are pitching a coaching program, you might direct them to a link that you drop in the comments section. You might invite them to DM you if they are interested in getting a free business planning checklist. Create the conversation that gives you an opportunity for a sale.
Pitch After the Training and Before Q&A to Retain Your Audience
If your livestream is meant to support you pitching a new offer, make sure you do that after you’ve delivered value first. Pitch your offer after the training and before Q&A so your audience sticks around. It’s important to save some of the juicy questions that come in through the chat feature until the end and tease those during the livestream. That way you build excitement and engagement for the Q&A section.
Answer Questions by Pointing Them Back to the Program.
By the time you get to the Q&A session, you will have already delivered actionable value to your audience. You don’t need to give away value in the Q&A section in the same way. Instead, turn each question into an opportunity to point back to the program you have on offer. If they have a specific question about what you would recommend they do, point them back to the program as a source for answers. Of course, be subtle about this, offer them a nugget of insight and still, point them back to the program.
With a game plan, livestreams can become your absolute best sales tool.
Show up with integrity.
Take action when you’re scared.
Believe in yourself always.
Seek guidance while trusting your intuition.
And never never never give up.
You got this. 🙌🏻
